The Camphill School in Glenmoore
The Camphill School provides both boarding and day placements for students from pre-K through high school. They accept local, nationwide and international students.
Students accepted are children diagnosed with the full spectrum of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down Syndrome, traumatic brain injury, and other syndromes associated with I/DD.
The school accepts funding from the child’s school district as well as via private funding. Partial tuition assistance may be available after their child has been accepted into the program. All families are asked to contribute to the school as is possible.

Caron in Wernersville
The Caron Pennsylvania offers non-hospitalization residential and rehab services to men, women, older adults, and young adults who are in need of treatment for substance abuse, trauma, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
In addition to the services above, the young adult program focuses on the treatment of anger, body image, self-esteem/self-worth, sexual acting out, self-harm, relationship challenges, family problems, and mood disorders.
In-patient residential services are in-network with many insurance providers in Pennsylvania.

Devereux in Villanova
Devereux maintains multiple locations in Pennsylvania that can provide intensive residential treatment programs, as well as inpatient and outpatient services for children, adolescents and adults that have emotional, behavioral, intellectual/developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and brain injuries.
An interesting part of the adult program is The Shops at Devereux, located in Devon, PA. It is a place where participants can learn job skills and eventually work in the shop, gaining invaluable work experience in an actual workplace.

KidsPeace in Orefield
The KidsPeace Orchard Hills Campus in Orefield, PA provides residential care and treatment for children and adolescents between the ages of 10-18 years old (females) and 7-18 years old (males). This private charity offers intensive therapeutic programs for behavioral and mental health issues including trauma and sexual preoccupation.
They also offer a residential treatment program at its Orchard Hills Campus that is certified by TRICARE, providing financial coverage for participants coming from military families.

Melmark in Berwyn
Melmark in Berwyn’s program offers residential, educational and rehabilitative services for students aged 5 to 21 years who have been formally diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disabilities, and developmental disabilities. They also support children whose behavior may include self-harm or harm to others.
They offer numerous residential locations that include five specifically for children, ten for adults, plus an additional 16 homes nearby for adults.

Paradise School in Abbottstown
The Paradise School in Abbottstown, under the umbrella of Catholic Charities Dioceses of Harrisburg, accepts students in Kindergarten through twelfth grade (elementary through high school).
Grades K-6th grade attend school and have the opportunity to participate in therapeutic activities every day.
Students in grades 7-12 attend seven hours of school per day. They may have the opportunity to participate in various types of therapy via the Outpatient Counseling program at Paradise school.

Woods in Langhorne
Woods is located in Langhorne, approximately halfway between Philadelphia and Trenton, NJ. They offer short-term residential treatment of children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 21 years, as well as vocational and adult day services.
They admit and treat clients with a diagnosis of autistic disorder, brain injury, developmental disabilities, aggression, self-injury or property destruction. At Woods, the ultimate goal is for the child/adolescent to return to life in the family home.
Woods is a private, not-for-profit organization. There are a variety of options for funding treatment such as private insurance companies, child welfare agencies, and private pay.
