Gateway Woods is a Christian residential program that uses a houseparent model approach to nurture struggling boys and girls ages 12-18 with issues such as oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), eating disorders, drug and alcohol related issues, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), bipolar disorder, adjustment disorders and delinquent and pre-delinquent issues.
The residents are placed for a period of 6-12 months into a specific group home on campus where they reside under the guidance of an assigned houseparent couple. Houseparent families provide a model of spirituality, family interaction, structure, and support.
Gateway Woods matches each resident with a Masters-level therapist upon arrival. They combine individual and family counseling with the rest of their activities in order to address his or her unique needs. They also offer an accredited on-grounds educational program to all of their residents.

Midwest Center for Youth & Families in Valparaiso and Kouts
Midwest Center for Youth & Families offers specialized residential treatment for children and adolescents with complex mental illnesses. The conditions they treat include (but are not limited to) bipolar disorder, borderline features, depression, severe ADHD, suicidal and self-harming behaviors as well as the long term effects of low self-esteem.
They serve males 12–18 and females 10–18. Their locked and secure therapeutic residential units are separated by age and gender. Oaklawn in Elkhart, Mishawaka, and St. Joseph
Oaklawn is sponsored by Mennonite Health Services, a community of health and human service ministries who seek to further God’s work of healing. Oaklawn provides mental health and addiction treatment for boys and girls ages 12-18 years old.
Oaklawn provides residential treatment to youth at their Mishawaka Campus. School is provided on campus by The City of Mishawaka. Each classroom has a licensed teacher and an aide. They also have an on-site guidance counselor, administrator and a credit recovery service.
Oaklawn walks with their clients on their journey facing the complexity of mental illness together. As a faith-based organization, they believe in treating the whole person; mind, body and spirit.

The Marsh Foundation in Van Wert
The Marsh Foundation offers four on-campus group homes for males ages 7 – 17. Three of the group homes are licensed to house up to 10 boys. One of these is dedicated to The Marsh’s program for male juvenile sex offenders. The homes are staffed 24-hours a day by highly trained family teachers who consistently provide behavioral treatment.
A fourth home has a program geared toward independent living and is licensed for six males, ages 15 and older. After meeting specific treatment goals within the group homes, children may be able to step down to a foster home within The Marsh Foundation’s continuum of care or they may be ready to return home with their family.
The school is staffed by three-full time academic teachers all with their master’s degrees, two of which are in special education.
