What is a Christian Boarding School?
Christian boarding schools are specifically residential schools that enable your young boy, girl, or high school/college prep student to live and study away from home (5 days or 7 days per week).
Christian boarding schools (CSBs), because they are not state funded, are almost always considered private schools. Therefore, parents usually self-pay for tuition, room, board, and any associated fees.
There are a number of CSBs that are non-profit and fees may be reduced because of various types of funding and donations. Most schools provide scholarships and/or financial aid programs. While not all the fees will be covered, some CBS work with you so that your insurance covers some of the cost of medical or mental health care at the school.
Many CSBs are considered a type of therapeutic boarding school that helps children with mental health or behavior issues. However, not all CSBs are so check out our guide on therapeutic boarding schools and how to choose the best one for your youth to make sure you know what to look for when examining each of these schools to see if they are the right fit for your child.
